CAREER OPTIONS IN 2020

 Career options in 2020

(The vocabulary and style of english in this blog is kept easy and vernacular)

If you think what to learn out of n options infront of you and get paralyzed seeing different possibilities in different career options and technologies, then you must read this blog word-by-word.

Jira, Python, Kotlin, Saas, SEO, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Azure, Google Cloud, AWS...... and hundred more.

Which one to choose?

Which combination of above technologies and career option to choose?

Will there be regret after 5 years, if choice will not be correct?

After 5 years, everything will seem settled, change in choices will be diamond hard.

I belong to core branch or non-comp branch, shall I learn programming?

Following buzz like programming, Data Science, ML, Blockchain will be right?

Non-tech choices like writer, singer, painter(diminishing), digital artist, designer etc will be a better choice over tech choices.

4000+ thoughts come across mind of 1 person in 1 day, research says.

Out of 4000+, 500 would be regarding career, I assure. As we are exposed and expected to studies by third person and self too.

These 500 thoughts for a 15 days, can give unnoticed yet devastating mental happiness and healthiness.

The above theory is not a literary art, but reality every one is painfully living.

Take a minimum 7-day break from every possible website, social media, call or web.

Live like you lived with your family in 4th standard and soon you will reflect the correct and feel better.

The writer of this blog believes taking such breaks once a month is mandatory to break the chain of thoughts.

How to live disconnected from web and gadgets for 7-days?

Just force yourself physically and mentally to stay away. Read that again for 3 times.

Build an attitude that you study big machines and theories in engineering, but, can't you stay away from web and gadgets for 7-days?

hello?

Are those that important that you can't live without touching them for 7-days only?

If this doesn't work!

Write down on paper, what remarkable or very important things you have done with the help of web and gadgets in the past 7-days?

I am sure, not more than 1-2 things, but only surfing the infinite number of webpages which lead to nowhere.

The next blog on How exactly to choose career options and trending technologies out of many available? will be released on 8th-day from today, if this blog will recieve 100+ views after 7-days of break suggested above?

MIND LIKE A CAR TAKES TURN EACH MOMENT, AND IT LEADS TO AN ENDLESS JOURNEY LEADING TO NOWHERE.

BUT, A MIND WITH MAP AND ROAD, CAN OVERCOME DIFFICULTIES AND LEAD TO SOME PLACE, WHICH IS ULTIMATE RESULT OF UNTAMED TIME.

This blog must not have given you solid solution of the problem to be discussed, but it will give a push to your thought to work over it.

3-minute reading can't take you out of depression or give you best choice of career, but it does give a mental-push to think.

You won't get an electric shock now!

While working with electricity, it can be AC or DC. Both can be fatal. From minor burns to death could be the consequences. If you are dealing with AC, it is a sine wave. When you get in contact with it. Your heart would get it's normal pumping rhythm reversed. This state is called "Ventricular Fibrillication". This, will take your life even if power is turned off by your friend. When dealing with DC, you have to escape wet areas. Sweat, rain or any speck of water might give you severe burns to death(under certain conditions)! It is not fixed that till what voltage you won't get a shock. It's just the conditions that matter. Condition of wet areas around DC circuit. Even 20 volt battery held in rain water installed in a device might take your life. DC contracts muscles and skin, thus proving to be dangerous than AC.

There are various tips to avoid a shock, when working on it. Out of the various tips, the top 5 tips which work each time are here-

1) Avoid any form of water near electricity- AC/DC both.

2) Never work with live wires. Turn OFF supply. And then check with multimeter, because few elements store energy even after supply is turned OFF.

3) Electricity deserves respect. Use proper methods to operate over it.

4) Put your left hand in pocket and work with Right hand. This will pass current from you hand to foot. Heart is safe then.

5) Keep a tester along with you. Ask someone to accompany while working, if something bizarre occurs.

Nugget : Google Maps getting redefined

A new algorithm is being implemented in Google Maps which will display finer features than former version. Additional features will be-

  • Clear Street View
  • Cross-paths, Sidewalks
  • Zebra crossing and other distinct engineering.
Google is investing huge amount of money on Augmented Reality (AR) as well. Apple has also invested in this technology. Although, Google's new step isn't announced yet. Sources indicate Apple is working on AR-Screen for 2021 launch.

In the mean time, a new JavaScript called Handwritten.js has been in tech news as it converts text file into Handwritten PDF format. Isn't that amazing? Yes! you read it right.

The news of startup called Portl Inc. became viral when investors started running behind searching it's IPO date all over the world. Interested, what this engineering miracle is? It creates physical replica of human you dialup as you did in PCO. Talk with the replica of the other person, standing next to you!

THESE ARE THIS WEEK'S KNOWLEDGE NUGGETS! GRAB THESE TO GET UPDATED WITH WORLD. No matter you get time to research or not.

Most Paying Career Options Trending in this Decade

A lot of confusion and theory is all over internet. To get a clear understanding of the various most paying careers in the coming decade are here.

Being an IITian, I have a lot of advantages in accessing these courses.

I have summarised briefly for the tier 2 and tier 3 college students

1) Machine learning - learning can be of three types (a) supervised learning (b) semi-supervised learning (c) unsupervised learning.

Machine learning is a subset of AI. It is basically the study of computer algorithms improving with experience. Means real life application of computer algorithms. This is the top domain trending and under it comes other subdomains in which career is also very successful.

2) Deep learning - It is a part of machine learning. It is based on artificial neural network with representation learning. This means as in our body we have neurons, veins and arteries. Similarly the knowledge carrying veins are drawn on paper. For example- if we have huge unorganised data, we can input this data in deep learning and with the help of machine learning algorithms, similarities and dissimilarities which can be of great use are displayed on the output.the process involved in this is multi layer extraction which gives some really important output.

This representation of information is called deep learning. This is a sub-domain of artificial intelligence.

3) Data Science - Like the science of chemicals is chemistry. The science of numbers is mathematics. Similarly, the science of dealing with data is data science. Data science is just a name. Under it comes various career options.

4) Data Analysis - in this models and hypothesis on data sets are analysed. The conclusion of the analysis is the required output. For example- raw data of the companies in Mumbai as input it, the output with the help of data analysis can give effective marketing strategy.

5) Big Data - The big amount of data used for data analysis is called big data. Big data is therefore used for taking out useful information for a company.

6) Data Consultant - This position is responsible for telling the company about how can big data be effectively used for creating various models and statistical histograms and charts.

Data Mining - it is a process to find out patterns in large data sets. Data mining uses machine learning, statistics and database management system for mining data.

* Data science and machine learning are the major subjects of computer science students only. Other branch students need to cover basic concepts of computer science first and then move to this career option. *

PLC : Understand WHY?

PLC is short form of Programmable logic controller. It is a rough & tough computer which is used in industry where desktop computer cannot operate. PLC is an important component in automating processes and controlling systems.

•PLC are small and large size as well. From 10 I/O ports to 1000 I/O ports.

•PLC replaces hard-wire relay logic systems. PLC is compact and advanced.

•PLC are programmed for an operation. Earlier programmed in Ladder logic, few in Instruction List. Both of which are another chapter to learn PLC completely.

•PLC runs program many times in cycles. 1 cycle = read input, execute program, give output. A PLC contains 5 major components- 1) CPU - takes input, does the required and sends output. 2) Power supply unit - converts AC from switchboard to DC for PLC operation. 3) Memory unit - stores all inputs and all programs entered. 4) I/O interface - to receive or send data to connected device 5) Communication interface - to send or receive I/O from PLC in other cities through internet.

•Two types of structure PLC is designed- 1) Brick/Box type 2) Racks/Rails type Programming Languages- Textual Languages- Structured text and Instruction list. Graphical languages- Ladder diagram, Function block diagram and sequential function chart. To understand PLC completely, its program should be written, tested and debugged. But, PLC is very costly and small errors can damage the system. For educational purpose, simulation software like PLCLogix is used.

•PLC can work in extreme surroundings with precise results. PLC replace electromechanical relay which serves as controller for electrical+ mechanical operations.

•PLC has these built-in ports- USB, Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485 or RS-422 to connect with sensors, HMI etc. Communication is done over MODBUS or Ethernet/IP or P2P network. For humans to operate, GUI with buttons and screens are on PLC for easy operation.

Sensors: In easiest words

A sensor is component of electronic world which can detect any change in surrounding quickly and informs the component attached next to it.
  • Sensors are present almost everywhere. Can you list down any 5 sensors around you?
  • There are more than 100 type of sensors with different purpose. Not possible to master all, but learning the top 10 most used sensors would help you to gain confidence in sensors.
  • Sensors are small in size and used with other electronic component to make one complete device or instrument.
  • Sensors have linear transfer function. Means output changes as input changes proportionally.
  • Sometimes, in analog sensors; a digital component is used to convert output into digitally readable format. This converter is Analog-to-digital convertor.
  • A number of errors can occur during operation. Some can be compensated by calibration called systematic/random error.
  • Resolution is the smallest change sensor can detect.
  • Exceptional example- A chemical sensor which can tell chemical composition of its surrounding.
Bio-sensor - A sensor which detects biotechnology components like proteins, nucleic acid from its surrounding.
  • A breakhrough in sensor is MOS(Metal oxide semiconductor) technology. Applied in almost every sensor to make it very efficient.
MOS sensors are used for monitoring almost every practical change in every small to large process. Example- detect gases, defense, rain, wind, light, car speed, traffic accidents,
traffic jams, agriculture, office and what not.
  • Amazing projects can be made to solve any problem using sensor. Creating a solution of a problem is a genius but making a problem of solution is not.
